AT YOUR WRATH
 
Woe to those who walk in the counsel of the wicked!
They make themselves the object of Your wrath.
Those who whore after dead gods,
Following the counsel of their own hearts,
And refuse to amend their ways and their doings
Do so to their own hurt.
They provoke You to anger with their abominations,
And bring down shame upon their own faces.
For upon them Your wrath shall come
And shall never be quenched.
 
At your wrath, O King of all creation,
The earth shall tremble;
The nations will quiver at the sight of Your indignation.
In Your anger You will bring down the haughty;
They will be ashamed of their harvest.
 
By Your power, O God,
You created the earth;
By Your wisdom You have established the world
And stretched out the heavens at Your discretion.
At the utterance of Your voice, O LORD,
A multitude of waters settled above the canopy.
You cause the mist to ascend from the ends of the earth,
You make lightning for the rain,
And bring the wind out of Your treasuries.
 
Lord, You are the Creator of all things.
The LORD of hosts is Your name!
Your Word is the joy and rejoicing of my heart.
You are my fortress and my peace,
My refuge and strength in the day of affliction.
Your Word, O Lord, is like fire.
It melts the lion's heart
And burns away the dross like a refiner.
Your voice thunders and the earth quakes;
Like a hammer, it breaks the rock in pieces.
 
Your Word, O Lord, shall succeed.
Your anger, O Holy One, will not turn back from Your foes,
Until You have executed the thoughts of Your heart.
You will bring an everlasting reproach
And a perpetual shame upon Your foes.
But those who seek Your counsel and walk in Your statutes
Are the inheritance of the LORD.
Those who obey Your ordinances shall see Your face
And inherit Your Glory.
Be blessed, O Holy One!
For Yours alone are glory, praise and honor.
