GOD-WHO-FORGIVES
My heart breaks forth in praise
And sings your glory, O God-Who-Forgives;
For You are good to everyone.
You have freed us from the bonds of corruption,
And reversed the curse of the earth.

Let every mouth extoll the name of the Lord,
Let every knee bow to the glory of his Majesty!
That his great name be highly honored.
Be exalted, O Lord!
You bring to dishonour the pride of all glory,
And to contempt all the honorable of the earth;
You purge the powerful from their strength,
And lay bare the glory of kingdoms.
You put an end to the revelry of those who feast,
And make the merry-hearted sigh in despair.
The mirth of the jubilant is turned into silence.
But You, O Lord, are the strength of the weak,
The righteousness of the humble and contrite spirit.
Their mouths shall be filled with laughter,
And their tongues infused with songs of praise.
You have shown us, O gracious Lord,
That You are a God who forgives.
You have revealed your salvation to the sons of men,
Have crowned your chosen ones
With tender mercies and lovingkindness.
You bless those who mourn,
Crown the poor in spirit with the riches of your glory,
And raise the humble.
Lord, You are a crown of glory
And a diadem of beauty to your children.
O Wonderful Counselor, Excellent in guidance!
You reign in righteousness
And rule with justice.
You are our hiding place from the wind,
Our shelter from the tempest,
The Life-Giving Water and Rock of our salvation.
You give sight to the blind
And ears to hear You.
You give understanding to the mind
And revive the contrite heart.
You correct your children in justice,
Heal them of their wounds,
And restore the health of their bones.
In humiliation your enemies shall be brought low;
Their glory is in their shame.
But the eyes of your children
Shall see You in the beauty of your glory.
They will be crowned with joy,
Sorrow and sighing our souls shall know no more;
For You have delivered us
From the pit of corruption,
And cast all our sins behind your back.
Be exalted, O Prince of Peace,
Light of our souls, the Lord our Redeemer!
May thy blessed name be hallowed!
