Thanksgiving Prayer

O Lord my salvation,

You are worthy to be praised.

You rule over all that You have made.

You are holy, gracious and sovereign!

My soul nestles in the safety of your wings.

Without You, my blossom shall go up like dust;

For there is not any health in my bone.

I am feeble and frail.

But You, O Lord, are my hope,

The Keeper of my soul,

My power to overcome the flesh,

My victory over sin, death and Satan.

 

To the glory of your Majesty, O King of peace,

My heart forever shall rise in praise.

For at the cross, peace and life I have been given;

Not on the basis of my works,

But through Jesus Christ, your Beloved Son.

He laid down his life

For the wretched being that I am.

Lord, You are my righteousness and peace.

 

O Gracious Lord, the Rock of my salvation!

My heart exults in your beauty

And overflows with gratitude.

For You have pulled me out of the miry clay,

Have taken the burden off my back,

And crowned me with everlasting glory.

May thy tender mercies and lovingkindness continually preserve me.

 

O Lord God of my righteousness,

Keeper of my soul!

Protect me from the deceitfulness of riches.

Keep my eyes upon You, my Lord.

May they never stray away from the cross.

Let not my heart be infatuated with the things of this world,

Nor my feet take me where darkness dwells.

Preserve me from seeking the glory of men.

Keep my gaze straight before me, I pray.

Let not my tongue frame hateful words,

Nor my mind think up evil.

May my thoughts be refined and pure.

O Father, let not the Evil One take advantage of me!

 

Upon your glory, my God, I shall keep my gaze,

Take my feet to your sanctuary, O Lord.

Fill my heart with love for Thee.

Let my mouth be a fountain of blessings,

And may my tongue always sing your praise.

Let your truth abide in me, Almighty Father.

Fill my heart, I pray, with humility and patience.

 

May faithfulness and obedience to You be my desire.

May my heart hunger and thirst for holiness

And my hands work righteousness.

Do not allow any evil in me, my Lord;

Search me day and night.

Let your Spirit fill me and convict me.

Sanctify me for your glory, O Lord.

In your Son’s blessed name.
